"Architecture is the highest form of art. "
During my trip to China in 2025, I was fascinated by the ancient buildings, some of which have stood for thousands of years. I have a particular obsession with roofs; I see them as the most critical and technically challenging part of any structure.
While spending time in the woodshop, I read a book explaining the purpose behind the curved silhouettes of traditional Chinese roofs. I learned that the curve isn't just for show—it extends the shaded area and, during the rainy season, directs water much further away from the house's foundation. Inspired by this blend of beauty and engineering, I have designed a small shed featuring a traditional curved roof.
I have completed the full design process, from initial sketches and 3D modeling to constructing a physical wooden model. Below is a video showcasing my sketches and the building process.
